An Introduction

If there's something you should know about my "story", it's that I did not want to be a preacher's wife. In the words of Taylor Swift, like, EVER. And yet, at twenty-two years old I found myself engaged to a Youth Pastor.

So I eventually came to accept that my life would be spent bringing casseroles to the church Bar-B-Q and trying to hide the fact that I like wine. But I was determined NOT to be the church secretary, or any other preacher's wife cliche.

Two months before the wedding, I was officially the church secretary. (People aren't kidding about this "never say never" business. This is why I'm very careful about what I say regarding babies).

This has been my journey for the past year; one in which I had to bite my tongue, eat my words, and swallow my pride many a time. But the adventure of being a newlywed has made it all so worth it. I've loved learning how to be a Mrs. Trevor and I are preparing to step out into the next chapter of our lives, and we're still not sure where that'll be or when, but we're expecting an adventure (how's that for vague?)

One more thing you should probably know about me? I am particularly inclined to klutziness. One day I thought I'd wear my thigh-high hose from Victoria's Secret under my dress to church. In my defense, I was not aware that these are not practical wardrobe components. And I did not yet know the function of garter belts.

So I was walking out of church past a crowd of people when they completely lost any grip they had had on my skinny chicken legs. Down they went in front of half the congregation. I've never heard a full parking lot become so silent.

This is my life.

I don't know where I'll be next year, or even next month, but I'm determined to use this blog to document each step (big and small). And if I can make those steps without pantyhose falling down my leg, so much the better.
