a thought

"When you stay in your room and rage or sneer or shrug your shoulders, as I did for many years, the       world and its problems are impossibly daunting. But when you go out and put yourself in real relation   to real people, there's a very real danger that you might end up loving some of them. And who knows what might happen to you then?"

Jonathan Franzen

  1. I absolutely love this and wholeheartedly agree. It wasn't until I decided to stop using my introvertedness as an excuse and just get out there. To explore, meet people and experience in a whole new way. Franzan is right because I never knew I'd end up in 3-5 hour long conversations with people I met through Craigslist and many other experiences I never would have had, had I not left the apartment. I think the greatest experiences are when we abandon all, open our arms and approach life just like the 'the game of trust' where you fall back into the hands of others and trust that they will be there. Sure you might get a bruise here and there because someone let you down but most often, you will go to places you never dreamed simply because you got out there, did something, met people, you lived.

  2. This is brilliant! I've never really thought of life and meeting other people and being in the "real world" like this before. Love this and thank you for sharing this, Heather! :)

  3. Beautiful. I love your blog, Heather!

  4. The perfect thought for today. Thank-you. X Jane
